The standard East Frisian dictionary
Since the end of 2019, our member Onno Dirk Feldmann has been working as project manager of oostfraeisk.org on the implementation of a standard East Frisian dictionary.
Feldmann’s dictionary, which we support as an association, standardizes the East Frisian language to the au dialect – the East Frisian central dialect, which is also the largest East Frisian dialect.
This dictionary currently has approximately 92,000 records (as of January 2024) that contain individual words, as well as phrases and idioms as well as examples. In addition to an East Frisian-German version, an East Frisian-English version is also available.
